Working Principle: The circulating stirred ball mill is a type of machine that combines a stirred ball mill with a large-capacity premixing tank. It utilizes a pump to circulate the material at high speed to achieve a grinding effect and a narrow particle size distribution. The rapidly circulating material passes through a layer of intensely agitated grinding media. This phenomenon is beneficial for obtaining a narrow particle size distribution, allowing small particles to pass through quickly while relatively coarse particles remain for a longer time, resulting in preferential crushing of coarse particles. Circulating stirred mills are typically used for grinding materials with micron-level dimensions, high quality requirements, and those that are difficult to grind and disperse.

The main features of the circulating stirred ball mill are: a narrow particle size distribution after grinding; lower investment in grinding media and grinding chambers; and the ability to process large volumes of material. The slurry can be continuously monitored, and other formulation components can be added to the premixing tank during the grinding process; sensitive components can be added near the end of grinding. Because the slurry has a short residence time in the grinding chamber, spending most of its time in the premixing tank, it offers excellent temperature control.
