Continuous horizontal ball mills are important equipment for dry grinding in the production of silicate products, new building materials, refractory materials, fertilizers, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, quartz sand, manganese metal sheets, and glass ceramics.

Working Principle

This machine is a horizontal cylindrical rotating device, driven by external gears, sprockets, or belts, and is a two-compartment grid-type ball mill.

Material is fed evenly into the ball mill chamber via a screw conveyor through the hollow feed shaft. The chamber contains three different sizes of grinding balls. The rotation of the cylinder generates centrifugal force, lifting the grinding balls to a certain height before they fall, impacting and grinding the material. After coarse grinding in the first chamber, the material passes through a single-layer partition plate into the second chamber, which contains four different sizes of grinding balls for further grinding. The powdered material is discharged through the discharge screen and enters a vibrating screen for grading, completing the grinding process.

Structural Features

This machine consists of a feeder, discharge section, rotating section, transmission section, and grading section. The hollow shaft is made of casting, and the lining can be customized according to user requirements. The equipment operates smoothly and reliably.

Basic Requirements

1. Each mill should process 500-800 kg of manganese metal flakes per hour, ensuring no impurities are introduced during the milling process.

2. The mill barrel is made of 10mm Sus304 stainless steel plate, with a polyurethane lining to prevent abrasive particles from sticking.

3. The mill barrel rotates to discharge the material. The equipment is enclosed with a sealed casing to prevent dust from escaping.

4. The equipment is rationally designed, operates stably, is highly reliable, easy to operate and maintain, and operates at a noise level of less than 65 dB.

Main Component Technical Specifications

1. Main motor voltage: three-phase 380V, rated output power: 15kW, using Anhui Wannan YE3 series motor with brake function. The reducer is a hardened gear reducer ZLY180-20-II, brand: Jiangsu Guomao.

2. Mixing tank: total volume 850L, loading capacity 300L. Tank body is made of 10mm SUS304 stainless steel, lined with polyurethane, 8-10mm thick. Reinforcing plates and ribs are installed at the main shaft mounting point for reinforcement.

3. Frame material: structural steel, bottom plate covered with A3 steel plate for easy cleaning. The frame is smooth and flat inside and out, with rust-proof inner layer and baked enamel finish on the outer layer.

4. During discharge, the grinding drum uses an automatic continuous rolling mechanism, simultaneously grinding and automatically ejecting the completed material into the collection bin outside the grinding drum. The discharge screen has an 80-mesh screen made of SUS304 stainless steel. The equipment is equipped with nitrogen protection, ensuring clean discharge without dead corners. The feed inlet is Ф300mm, and the cover is screw-fixed, providing excellent sealing, durability, and easy operation.

5. The sealed casing is made of 2mm steel plate, internally coated with Teflon (0.03-0.06mm thickness), and externally brushed and polished. The casing provides excellent sealing, preventing dust from escaping during discharge. The discharge port uses a DN150 butterfly valve to control the discharge flow.

6. The main shafts at both ends of the ball mill are kept perfectly concentric. This ensures stable operation, prevents bearing damage, and extends bearing life.

7. Material is fed via a left-side screw conveyor. The reducer is a helical gear reducer from Jiangsu Guomao. The screw shaft is precision-machined from SUS304 round steel, ensuring high precision, quality, and durability. The screw shaft is coated with tungsten carbide, with a thickness of 0.15-0.2mm. The speed is 0-85 rpm, controlled by a frequency converter to regulate the material output and maintain consistency with the automatic screening and discharge within the drum. The screw conveyor hopper has a volume of 500L, with an inner wall coated with polyurethane, a thickness of 2-3mm, and an external brushed and polished finish.

7. The ball mill maintains good dynamic balance and eliminates impact. The drum speed is 0-52 rpm, and the operating noise is below 65dB.

8. The reducer uses a gear reducer, and the cylinder and reducer are driven by a double-row chain. The sprockets are heat-treated for high hardness, smooth operation, long service life, and low maintenance. The motor and reducer use a flexible connection and belt pulley drive to avoid mechanical damage and reduce operating noise. The transmission parts are fully enclosed, eliminating dust pollution.

9. The equipment has good insulation and sensitive operation. Anchor bolts can be added to the equipment feet to reduce vibration.

10. The ball milling time is digitally set (0~999 minutes), with a timed shutdown function.

11. Electrical components are from Chint Group, and the equipment control is randomized.

Installation and Commissioning

I. Installation

1. The equipment is shipped as a complete unit, making installation convenient and simple.

2. The equipment can be installed on any level surface with a cement foundation without the need for anchor bolts.

3. Party B shall prepare the following supporting facilities: power supply, cable, and utilities: (1) Power supply: 15kw; (2) Cable: BV-10mm² three-phase four-wire, length depending on the distance between the factory distribution cabinet and the equipment distribution box.

II. Commissioning

1. Upon receiving the equipment, Party B shall immediately notify Party A of receipt and inform Party A of Party B's preparation status.

2. Upon receiving Party B's equipment commissioning notification, Party A shall immediately dispatch experienced and qualified technical personnel to Party B to provide free equipment commissioning guidance.
