When excessive material or a metal block enters the space between the two rollers, the hydraulic cylinder piston rod becomes overloaded, the hydraulic pump shuts down, the accumulator buffers pressure changes, the relief valve returns oil, and the piston rod shifts, widening the gap between the rollers. Once the hard object passes through the rollers, the system returns to normal, protecting the rollers from damage.
